Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, 26TH, June 2025, Marie Stopes Papua New Guinea (MSPNG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Anjelique Giranah as its new Country Director, effective 1 June 2026.

Ms. Giranah brings more than two decades of experience in public health, health systems strengthening, leadership, and development programming in Papua New Guinea. She joins MSPNG with an extensive background spanning provincial health leadership, donor-funded health programs, governance, policy, and community development.

Ms. Giranah, previously served as the organisation’s National Family Planning Training Program (NFPTP) Manager from 2017 to 2018. Since then, she has held several senior leadership positions, including Health Director with the New Ireland Provincial Administration and Senior Program Manager for the Australian-Indonesian Health Security Partnership (AIHSS) implemented by Abt Associates. She has also undertaken consultancy assignments across Papua New Guinea’s health and development sectors.

Speaking on her appointment, Ms. Giranah said she was honoured to return to MSPNG and lead the organisation during a critical period for sexual and reproductive health service delivery in Papua New Guinea.

“In many ways, this appointment feels like coming full circle. Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand the realities faced by women, families, health workers, and communities across Papua New Guinea. These experiences have reinforced my belief that sustainable change happens when systems are strengthened, communities are heard, and people remain at the centre of the work we do,” Ms. Giranah said.

“Leading MSI PNG is not simply about managing an organisation. It is about supporting a dedicated team, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to a future where women and families across Papua New Guinea can access the services, information, and choices they need to determine their own futures.”

Ms. Giranah takes over the reins as Marie Stopes Papua New Guinea enters its 20th Year of service in Papua New Guinea, ensuring the organization remains committed to helping women and families across the country have access to high-quality, voluntary sexual and reproductive health services and information, regardless of where they live.
