Marie Stopes Papua New Guinea (MSPNG) welcomed members of the media to its Port Moresby Centre as part of its World Population Day activities, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the organization’s client-centred approach to sexual and reproductive healthcare. The guided walkthrough showcased every stage of the client journey—from reception and consultation to clinical quality assurance and ongoing client support.
Representatives from EMTV, NBC, Post-Courier, and TikTok content creator Morokoi attended the event, gaining first-hand insight into the systems, services, and people that help deliver quality healthcare to Papua New Guineans.
Opening the event, Projects and Partnerships Director Cathy Salayau said the walkthrough was designed to demonstrate MSPNG’s commitment to providing safe, respectful, and accessible healthcare.
“Our centres are more than healthcare facilities, they are safe, confidential, and respectful spaces designed around the needs of modern Papua New Guineans.”
During the walkthrough, guests visited the reception area, laboratory and imaging services, consultation rooms, clinical quality systems, and the Contact Centre, learning how client feedback continues to shape service delivery and how MSPNG maintains internationally recognised clinical standards.
Speaking to the media, Country Director Anjelique Giranah highlighted the broader significance of World Population Day.
“World Population Day is not just about numbers or statistics, it is about people. It is about ensuring that every individual, particularly women and young people, has access to the information and services they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive health and their future.”
The walkthrough concluded with a presentation on Marie Stopes PNG’s vision for sustainable healthcare access, highlighting the organization’s expanding range of services and continued commitment to empowering Papua New Guineans with quality information, care, and support.
By opening its doors to the media, Marie Stopes PNG reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, quality healthcare, and strengthening public understanding of sexual and reproductive health services available across Papua New Guinea.
